Dr. Antoinette (Annette) Lukasik grew up in Bensonhurst, a small community in Brooklyn, New York. She attended John Dewey High School and continued her undergraduate education at Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York where she majored in Biology, minored in Psychology, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. After completing her college studies, she attended the University of Buffalo Dental School of Medicine, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Following her four years of dental school, she decided to specialize in pediatric dentistry and completed a two year residency program at the Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y. A year later she continued at the same hospital, and completed her pediatric dental fellowship which concentrated on treating children with special needs.

Dr. Lukasik held a faculty teaching position in the Pediatric Dentistry department at the University of Buffalo Dental School of Medicine for three years, and also provided dental treatment on the University of Buffalo Mobile Dental Van for two years. She has also participated in several “Give Kids A Smile” events. Dr. Lukasik is involved in her community during Children’s Dental Health month in which she annually attends several elementary schools educating and promoting third graders and younger, proper oral hygiene, healthy eating, and diet habits so that the children may acquire a daily routine to having healthy and happy smiles. Dr. Lukasik is also an active attending staff member who has hospital privileges at the Kaleida Health/Children’s/Oshei Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y. When necessary, she provides dental treatment on children under a general anesthetic as an outpatient procedure within this facility. Dr. Lukasik also mentors dental students and helps prepare them for a future career in pediatric dentistry. Although Dr. Lukasik has been practicing pediatric dentistry for over 32 years, she continues to stay current with the latest research, and latest dental techniques by attending continuing education courses, given by various dental professional organizations. Additionally, she is a participating member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Society, the New York State Dental Association, the Eighth District Dental Society, The Chautauqua / Jamestown Dental Society, and the University of Buffalo Dental Alumni Association.

Dr. Lukasik enjoys spending time with her family, friends, dog and chickens. She also enjoys reading, gardening, biking, swimming and participating in various outdoor activities.
